A classroom full of students with cardboard boxes stuck to their faces, doesn’t sound that interesting, But from the comfort of a classroom students were on a magical tour of the world, space and even the human body.
Students in year 7 -10 all experienced 30 minutes session of Google’s newest toy. Google Expeditions is built to work with Google Cardboard, which is an inexpensive cardboard frame engineered to fit common mobile devices. Students can then look at their device through eyeholes that give a VR experience. During those 30 minutes students were able to visit places around the world for a virtual fieldtrip where they experience a 360o view of a range of landscapes, from tropical rainforest, being under water in the Galapagos Islands to be being in space.
Student’s imaginations were lit up with the experiences which they had during the session, with many students asking to come back after school to go on more experiences.
