On Tuesday 12th December, 50 students across the Matrix Schools met at Barr Beacon to find out more about their “Far From Home” Italian adventure as part of the Turing Scheme. The day consisted of meeting their staff, team building activities and learning more about where they are going. This of course would not have been complete without a “surviving Italy” language taster session from a native Italian, as well as tasting some authentic Italian dishes such as ‘Melanzane alla Parmigiana’ ‘Patate, Gorgonzola e Chorizo’ and a choice of ‘Antipasti’ to awaken their taste buds. The day was finished off by writing a Christmas card back to their pen pal in our partner school in Rome, we cannot wait to visit and meet them in person! 

Bloxwich Academy Christmas show went down a storm this week! Pirouettes, backflips, intense drama, stunning vocals, and a real sense of Christmas spirit. What a fantastic way to end the school term. All pupils and the performing Arts team did us proud, we most certainly hope you enjoyed the show, we cannot wait for the next performance!

From ‘Silent Night’ to ‘Deck the halls’ Bloxwich secondary school choir had a fabulous morning showing their impressive vocal talent at Walsall Manor hospital today. They got everyone into the festive spirit whilst raising money for Well Wishers, we are immensely proud of their contributions.

School closure due to a burst water main this morning that has resulted in no heating or water within the school.

Pupils will be dismissed via a staggered exit:

10am – Year 10

10:15am – Year 9

10:30am – Year 8

10:45am – Year 7

11am – Year 11 and Post 16

11am Update

Due to a mains water leak school is closed for pupils today, text communication has been sent to all parents and carers. Years 10, 11, 12 and 13 can continue their revision or coursework for examination subjects. KS3 pupils can access Oak National, Maths watch, Britannica, Educake or BBC bitesize for revision of current class topics.
