French Play

Our Y9 pupils enjoyed a French play performed by professional actors from France which made it even more authentic. This event enabled our pupils to develop their competence in the listening skill whilst having fun in a more relaxed atmosphere. Pupils picked up familiar words and phrases and were amazed at how much French they already know!

Loudmouth Performance “Step Too Far” and “Calling It Out”

This week, and beyond, Bloxwich Academy are promoting Anti Bullying Week. On Monday 10th November, Years 7, pupils were given the exciting opportunity to have a performance by Loudmouth called “Step Too Far”. Year 8 and 9 will be reflecting on the show they had by the same company during form time activities.  Year 10 also had the opportunity to have a performance by the same company called “Calling it out”

The performance, both age appropriate focused on the range of bullying types including physical, emotional, online, homophobic and sexual harassment. During the performance, pupils were educated on the types of bullying and the impact it can have on a range of individuals. They were also provided with ways to report, and online support from The Mix, Childline and CEOP reporting.

Pupils were educated on the need to report any signs of bullying to a member of staff or a trusted adult. This works alongside our school value of “We Are A Telling School”.

Following the performance, pupils were reminded of the laws relating to sexual harassment and the sending and receiving of images. This was completed through a discussion workshop and a “hot seat” opportunity where pupils were able to ask questions to the characters from the performance.

This topic will be supported throughout PSHE lessons and Assemblies.  Details of our RSHE Policy can be found on our website. This content is now statutory and forms a key part of our provision at school. Should you have any queries, please contact Miss Williamson in school.

Bloxwich Academy would like to thank Loudmouth for the fantastic and informative production.

Wolverhampton Uni Campus Visit Nov 2025

25 pupils from Year 10 had a campus experience day at Wolverhampton University as part of the Aspire to HE programme. They learnt about the various routes into university; how to apply to Uni, and the different courses available, including the entry requirement demands for different courses. This was the following the five weeks of in-school workshops aimed at raising our pupils’ aspirations.

Anti Bullying Week

As part of Anti Bullying week,  Bloxwich academy want to raise awareness to show pupils how they should use their 'power for good' to be a positive influence on each other. To raise awareness, students are being encouraged to wear odd socks each day next week and will earn 10 positive points if they do so.  There will be wristbands for sale to at break times which have anti bullying slogans on. Finally there will be a cake sale on Monday and Friday breaktime. There will be stickers saying the slogan 'Power for Good' for each student that purchases a cake to show their support.

We would love to see as many students as possible wearing stickers, wristbands and odd socks to show their support for Anti Bullying week.
