Huge well done to H Gavin for winning 4 golds and 1 silver medal at this Summer’s Kick Boxing World Championship in Ireland and Wales!
Our Early Years Team have been working extremely hard over the summer to create a better learning environment for Reception and Nursery classes.
We would like to congratulate them on the fantastic job that they have done. The classrooms look brilliant, so well done everybody!
Could Bloxwich academy be the most improved school again nationally, twice in 3 years?
Bloxwich Academy are celebrating a fantastic set of GCSE results. The progress pupils have made is outstanding, with many pupils achieving the top grades available. Our pupils have certainly embraced the academy’s ethos of being the best you can be.
We are over the moon with the progress our pupils have made. These results truly reflect the hard work and commitment of our pupils, parents and staff. The fantastic results now echo the excellent behaviour, superb culture and ethos we have at Bloxwich Academy. We are looking forward to working with our pupils on their return to Sixth Form in September.
Dame Mo Brennan, Chief Executive of Matrix Academy Trust, said: “These results show what determination and hard work can achieve. Bloxwich was once one of the lowest-achieving schools in the country and now it is one of the most improved. Pupils, parents and staff should all be proud of what they have achieved. “
Students have surpassed all expectations with another record-breaking set of results. 42% of all entries were at the top grades of A*- B or equivalent. This has resulted in 40% of our students holding offers of places at prestigious Russell Group universities.
We are extremely proud of the fantastic outcomes and superb destinations our Year 13 students have achieved this summer. To see so many accessing one of the top universities in the country shows how far the academy has come. All credit to our staff and students who have worked extremely hard to reach these standards

Year 6 put on a show stopping end of year performance of ‘The Rocky Monster Show’ this week. After weeks of rehearsals and planning they pulled off a fantastic celebration show with loads of monstrous numbers.
On the run up to the show various activities took place at school to champion the pupils performing arts success. We had a set designer in school who has worked on Oscar and BAFTA winning design teams. Working on films such as World War Z and Snow White and the Huntsman.
On the afternoon of the show day, pupils also had a visit from a makeup artist and hair stylist helping them look their very best for the big performance.
A selection of photographs from the performance can be found below.
After many hours of rehearsals, dedication and hard work, Bloxwich Academy students ranging from Year 7 through to Year 12 created a show that won’t be forgotten. Bloxwich’s first-ever Musical showcased snippets from The Greatest Showman, Annie, Chicago, Les Miserable, Matilda and Hairspray. Many pupils performed multiple roles and the evening was a huge success and everyone involved should be immensely proud of themselves.
We hope to see some of our students in the West End one day due to the confidence and professionalism that was shown throughout the three performances.
Year 5 have had a wonderful few days at Woodlands Adventure park taking part in an array of team building activities.
The residential trip provided the perfect opportunity for our pupils to grow and develop. Education outside the classroom is key to developing well-rounded young people and it creates a balanced curriculum. Outdoor learning and immersion into outdoor activities really did give our students the opportunity to shine.
We are sure everyone had a lovely time and will be sharing some of their thoughts from the trip in an upcoming Bugle along with lots more photographs.
This week our Year 11 cohort enjoyed their final celebration assembly, where they had the opportunity to get their school shirts signed by their friends and teachers.
They also received certificates and kind words from their Heads of Houses and Head Teacher. We would like to wish them the best of luck with the rest of their exams and we cannot wait to see them at next week’s prom!
On Thursday 11th July at the beautiful grounds of Calderfields Golf Club, staff eagerly awaited the arrival of our Year 11 Prom guests. Students spent the evening snapping photos, watching some fire breathing in awe and even getting a self portrait drawn by our very talented caricaturist.
Once the sun had gone down our Prom King and Queen were announced, that then led into a party to end all parties with our DJ. A great night was had by all and it will certainly be one to remember, especially the live version of leadership baby shark…
Vibrant hues, hard-hitting topics, and personal voice are common themes in this year’s Fine Art and Textiles exhibition. The evening demonstrated an array of talent from a wide age range of pupils at Bloxwich Academy, showcasing work produced over the last year. The diversity of the work on show explored a variety of mediums executed with a high level of skill, and year 13 students demonstrated analytical thinking through their investigation of mature themes such as; slavery, domestic violence, the roles of women in society and entrapment to name but a few.
The evening was a huge success with plentiful comments from parents and staff complimenting pupils on the talent and hard work evidenced. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Art department staff for their hard work in presenting the showcase and pupils for their efforts and enthusiasm this year, we look forward to seeing the fruits of your labour in the summer.
