Starting Monday 23rd March Joe Wicks The Body Coach is going to be hosting a free workout aimed at kids LIVE on his YouTube channel.
With the schools closed and with us all spending more time at home, it's more important than ever that we keep moving and stay healthy and positive. Exercise is an amazing tool to help us feel happier, more energised, and more optimistic.
The workouts will be fun and suitable for all ages and even adults can get involved. You don't need any equipment, just tune in on YouTube at 9am each morning for a 30-minute, fun workout.

On Friday 13th March, in aid of Sport Relief, we had our very own Dance-A-Thon! The Children had the chance to showcase the dance routines they have been perfecting during PE lessons. They came to school dressed ready for the event in their PE kits ready to hit the stage and showcase their best dance moves!
A huge well done to all of the pupils involved, your dancing was fantastic!

On Thursday 5th March 2020 we celebrated World Book Day! We dressed up in our pyjamas and had various activities running throughout the afternoon. Pupils got to share their favourite books with classmates as well as partnering up with different pupils in other classes to do some shared reading. We would like to thank all of our pupils, parents and teachers for participating!

On Friday 13th March, the school will once again be joining in the fun and fundraising in aid of Sport Relief.
Children are asked to come into school wearing their PE kit and participate in a Danceathon in return for a £1.00 donation. Each year group will have a 30-minute time slot where they can let loose and show off their best dance moves, before tagging in the next group to take on the challenge.
Once the Danceathon is complete, there will be a whole school assembly in which each class will take to the stage to perform dance routines which they have been learning during PE.

As part of our drive to promote and engage pupil interest in reading, the school will be participating in World Book Day on Thursday 5th March with the theme being Bedtime Stories.
On this special day, children are invited to come into school in their pyjamas and bring in their favourite bedtime story. This year’s World Book Day message is to share a million stories so with this in mind, the children will all be allocated reading buddies from different classes, and will share their much-loved story with each other.
Teachers will also swap classes and read to children from a different year group so that they can experience different storytelling techniques.

On Monday we had a special visit from Rock Steady Music School who put on a rockin' assembly! The children learnt about a variety of instruments and the difference between bass and electric guitars. They also sang along to their favourite songs!

Since returning back to school after the holidays, Nursery pupils have started reading 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'.
Last week the children took a trip to the woodland area in school in the hope to sight a bear. The children found lots of leaves and sticks unfortunately, no sign of a bear this time. The children then took their sticks to the classroom where they are now exploring a range of materials including wood, fabric, wool, plastic and paper.
Children are beginning to describe the texture of the materials they have found using fabulous adjectives. Some adjectives used are bumpy, soft, hard, crunchy, smooth and fuzzy. Next week we will be using a range of materials to create the face of a bear.
We encourage parents to continue to discuss materials at home.

In Maths the children are also working hard to recognise colours, numbers and a variety of shapes. The children are working hard to recognise their name and are starting to form recognisable letters by writing their name too! Keep up the good work Nursery we are all proud of your achievements.

Yesterday Nursery and Reception performed their Christmas production 'Away in a Manger.' The play is the traditional story of the nativity, but from the perspective of the animals and in particular of Maurice the mule. The children performed as a variety of animals from the stable and they worked hard to practise 7 different songs including 'Away in a Manger.'
Many of our Reception children also learnt their own lines and all children sang and practised the actions to all the songs. Well done to all of the children for getting involved.
