Stars in our School

Stars in Our Schools is an annual celebration of school support staff. This year the event will take place on Friday 28 November 2025. Stars in Our Schools is an opportunity for us to recognise and reflect on the significant role of support staff in our school. Everyone from admin teams, catering teams, IT teams and academic support staff play an invaluable role in creating the best possible environment for our pupils and staff to flourish. They really are Stars in Our School who make a huge difference every day. We are lucky here at Bloxwich Academy Secondary to have such a strong support staff body who go above and beyond. We are thankful for the work they do with such quality and care each day. Thank you!

Next Steps Day

A huge thank you to Walsall College, Barr Beacon and Wednesfield 6th Forms for hosting our year 11 pupils for the next steps day. Our pupils were buzzing after experiencing a day with their chosen post-16 provider, and many have decided to apply and secure their place today.

Festive Food Bank

Bloxwich Academy School Council is supporting the Bloxwich & Blakenall Food Bank this festive season.
The Food Bank, part of the Trussell Trust, provides food and essential toiletries for families during Christmas and beyond. Our Community Champions would also like to help brighten the season through a toy drive, as many families find it difficult to celebrate and provide gifts for their loved ones at this time of year.

We are kindly asking for donations of books and toys, which will be shared between the Food Bank and the Community Hub to support families in our community.

“Hooked” Smoking and Vaping Performance in Education

On Monday 24th November, Bloxwich Academy had the exciting opportunity to welcome Performance in Education to perform and present “Hooked.”

Year 8 were given clear messages on the dangers of smoking and vaping and the peer pressure surrounding their choices. Pupils were educated on the chemical dangers and the impact this can have on individuals into adulthood. Pupils were also educated on the dangers of vaping and the risks they are taking and the marketing to appeal to children. Performance in Education discussed the statistics and the unknown risks of vaping. They were also educated on the risk of spiked vaped including THC and Spice.

Performance in Education commended our pupils on their engagement and questions they asked following the performance.

Thank you to Walsall Council and Performance in Education for the opportunity to provide this level of education to our pupils.

Well done to Year 8 for their engagement with the topic and showing an awareness of the importance of looking after our personal health.

Anti-Bullying Week

Bloxwich Academy pupils have been celebrating Anti Bullying Week with a range of activities. Led by Mr Morris and the Anti Bullying Committee, pupils have been learning about this years theme for Anti Bullying “Power for Good”.

Pupils have been completing form time activities, having an assembly, wearing odd socks each day and purchasing anti bullying wrist bands to show their support for Anti Bullying and the strategies to use “Power for Good.” Year 7 and 10 pupils were also able to watch a performance from Loudmouth about bullying and harassment.

To celebrate Odd Socks Day, Bloxwich staff and pupils have been wearing odd socks all week. It was fantastic to see so many varieties of socks and for people to celebrate the messages of kindness, unity and individuality. Well done to all.

On Monday and Friday, the Anti Bullying Committee sold cakes and raised £132.55 for our house charities.

Parents and carers can find additional support from Anti Bullying Alliance on our social media page or following the link below:

Student Librarians

Introducing our two new student librarians, Aurora (Year 11) and Corey (Year 10). Both work tirelessly promoting our library around school, as well as supporting, encouraging and welcoming all pupils into our library. Both are a credit to both our school and library and are fully deserving of their new roles. Well done, Aurora and Corey!

Remembrance Day Parade

On November 11th, Bloxwich Academy Secondary and Years 4 and 5 from our Primary site honoured those who served and sacrificed in times of conflict. Pupils, staff and the Combined Cadet Force gathered in reflection to pay tribute to the bravery and resilience of our service men and women throughout history. The event was led by the Bloxwich Academy Combined Cadet Force where cadets shared messages of gratitude whilst a two-minute silence was observed to remember those who have fallen. The parade marks the culmination of work done over the last week in lessons where we have looked into the importance of remembrance and why it is such an important time of the year in the United Kingdom.

Schools Unite in Remembrance 2025

On Friday, 7th November 2025, all schools across our Trust came together to mark Remembrance Day — a time to honour and reflect on the courage and sacrifice of those who have served, and continue to serve, in our armed forces.

The event was led by the Cadet Forces from each school, who played a central role in the commemorations, including readings, the laying of wreaths, and leading the Trust-wide act of remembrance. Their pride, discipline, and respect set the tone for a moving and meaningful occasion.

At 11:00am, pupils, staff, and guests across the Trust joined together in the Two Minutes' Silence, uniting as one community to remember those who gave their lives in service of others.

We are incredibly proud of the way our schools came together — standing side by side to honour the past, reflect on the present, and look with hope towards the future. A huge thank you to Etone College for hosting the event and to Elmwood School for joining us for their first trust wide event.

"We will remember them."
