Macmillan Coffee Morning

On Friday 26th September, Bloxwich Academy held a Macmillan Read, Coffee and Cake morning. We invited our year 7 parents to enjoy a session of reading with their child in our school library. Mrs Hibbs joined the event and read the first chapter of Marcus Rashford’s You are a Champion. Pupils then read to their parents and enjoyed a warm drink and a cake. It was a wonderful morning, full of discussion, reading, laughter and obviously delicious cake. Please continue to check back on our social media pages for future events.

Daniel Caine

On Monday 15th September Bloxwich Academy welcomed Daniel Caines a former Olympian, World Champion in the 400m and European Champion in the 4x 400m relay. He delivered an inspirational assembly and workshop for our year 11 pupils. Daniel shared his journey in the athletics world, starting at a young age, to the triumphant achievements he was able to secure. Daniels key message to our pupils focused on the journey to success, which inevitable can include setbacks. He spoke about the resilience needed to go beyond these setbacks to be able to achieve the ultimate goal. Daniel explained to our pupils that it was important to “dot the I’s and cross the T’s” and “sweat the small stuff” to be successful in your goals. We hope our pupils can look back on the outstanding and motivational assembly, reflecting on how they can overcome their own setbacks to work towards their own achievements linking to the school moto of “Be The Best You Can Be.” Thank you Daniel for taking the time to be an inspiration to both our pupils and the staff.

Smash, Crash and Laugh: Our students take on the Rage Room!

Our Success Centre students took a smash-tastic field trip to a Rage Room—and wow, did they let loose! Armed with bats, hammers, and plenty of giggles, they turned old breakables into a million sparkling pieces (all under the watchful eye of safety gear, of course).

It wasn’t just fun—it was epic. Smashing, crashing, and laughing their way through the session, our students discovered the joy of breaking things without getting in trouble for it.

Staff Darts Competition

Over the course of the Summer 2 term, staff competed in a Darts Tournament. Fixtures took place over 7 weeks in a straight knockout tournament.

After some very competitive matches (and some less competitive ones), the final 4 staff made it to the semi finals. The draw saw Mr "Prime Time" Evans take on Mr "High Voltage" Stubley in Game 1 and Mr "Sir Bullseye" Knight take on Mr "The Power" Plant in Game 2.

Prime Time kept up his good run of form and was finding doubles at ease and therefore dispatched the last SLT representative in the competition with a 3-1 victory over High Voltage

In the other semi final, Sir Bullseye did a great job of maintaining the PE departments reputation as elite sports people by securing a 3-0 victory over The Power, and rumours began swirling around the staff body that Sir Bullseye may be more than just a competent player.

In a hotly anticipated final, there were some fantastic 3 dart scores right from the very first set with a high average being attained by both players. However, Sir Bullseye did what he did from the very start of the competition and floated in the necessary darts to the doubles he was aiming for to ensure a flattering 4-0 scoreline was achieved. Both players walked away with a huge amount of credit though due to the consistency and levels they reached.

Mr "Sir Bullseye" Knight took home the trophy for the inaugural Bloxwich Academy Staff Darts competition, and has set the marker for future editions!

A big thank you to all the staff who got involved and played all of the fixtures in a competitive manner but always in the right spirit.

We look forward to seeing you all again for next years tournament, as well as hopefully some new additions who fancy their chances of claiming the trophy.
