Digging for History

This week, we received a wonderful email from a parent of one of our Reception children. Cody from our Golden Cap class has taken up a new hobby; digging for, and learning all about, discarded glass bottles from the Victorian era. Cody’s Grandad has been enjoying this past time for a number of years and he recently took Cody on one of his treasure hunts. Would you take a look at the amazing old bottles and jars they found just under the soil surface in our local area! There are some incredibly old and interesting pieces of glassware, as you…

Safer Internet Day

Tuesday 7th February 2023 Safer Internet Day is held every February in over 170 different countries. Early Years Performance

Our early year’s children took to the stage and performed their Nativity for Nursery and Reception parents on Tuesday and it was lovely to welcome parents into school to watch their youngest take part in their first ever school performance, an important milestone, I’m sure. The children did a wonderful job and looked adorable in their costumes; it really is a highlight in every school calendar. Nursery A Wriggly Nativity

Matrix Collab Dance Performance

Dance students from across the Matrix Academy Trust came together on Monday 21st November at Turves Green Boys School to perform in a collaborative project. Each school was assigned a section of ‘Celebrate’ by Pitbull to choreograph and perform, before all coming together as one to learn and perform the final section. The event saw over 100 students come together and share their passion for dance. Students thoroughly enjoyed the experience of performing in front of others and making new friends. The overall performance shows the motivation and commitment that these students have for the subject.
