A group of year 3 and 4 children attended a SEND Table Cricket festival at West Walsall E-ACT Academy.  Table cricket is an adapted version of cricket, played on a table tennis table and specially designed to give young children (SEND) the chance to play and compete in the sport. This is a very strategic game! There are different scoring zones around the table and, just like in regular cricket, fielders have to be carefully positioned to prevent runs or to get the batter out. To celebrate the growth of Girls Football and to continue to show support, last Friday was the biggest ever football session #LetGirlsPlay Day. Lots of schools including Bloxwich tried to get as many girls playing football as possible. The year 6 girls really enjoyed getting involved, during their PE lesson and as part of their Good to be Green activities. 

A special shout out to Mr Neal for his 39 years’ service at Bloxwich Academy and a huge congratulations to our staff who attended the annual Matrix Academy Trust long service celebration meal last Friday. They joined colleagues from across the trust at the wonderful BANK.  Racking up over 700 years’ service collectively across the trust.  Another huge thank you to you all for your continued dedication to our community. This morning, Year 4 held a parent maths workshop. The children were tasked with the very important job of relocating the Professor’s dinosaurs and working out the total cost of the park.

We are delighted to launch our themed menus for 2023/24 off the back of our very successful new menu for the academic year.  These special days are an opportunity to celebrate events, festivals and cultures from around the world across all of the Matrix Academy Trust schools. Not only will these provide pupils with a wide range of food experiences but will also compliment our Personal Development curriculum and Theme of the Week.
