World Book Day

WORLD BOOK DAY! Wow!!!!! What an amazing day Bloxwich Academy have had. Thank you to all our parents and carers for buying costumes of your child’s favourite characters or sending your child/ren into school in their pyjamas. The children all looked amazing. I am over the moon at our many potato characters which have been brought into school. We had a Mr Bump, a school scene, a family of potatoes’, Sonic, a Super Mario character and many, many more- they were amazing! KS2 have brought in their own designs of a new book cover and blurb, and I was delighted…

Digging for History

This week, we received a wonderful email from a parent of one of our Reception children. Cody from our Golden Cap class has taken up a new hobby; digging for, and learning all about, discarded glass bottles from the Victorian era. Cody’s Grandad has been enjoying this past time for a number of years and he recently took Cody on one of his treasure hunts. Would you take a look at the amazing old bottles and jars they found just under the soil surface in our local area! There are some incredibly old and interesting pieces of glassware, as you…

Safer Internet Day

Tuesday 7th February 2023 Safer Internet Day is held every February in over 170 different countries. The goal of Safer Internet Day is to call on people across the world to work together to make the internet a safer and better place for all, but especially for young people. In the UK, the UK Safer Internet Centre run a campaign especially for the day which aims to start a national conversation about using technology safely and positively.  Last year over half of children and young people in the UK heard about the campaign, but it also involves and influences government, charities, police forces…

Early Years Performance

Our early year’s children took to the stage and performed their Nativity for Nursery and Reception parents on Tuesday and it was lovely to welcome parents into school to watch their youngest take part in their first ever school performance, an important milestone, I’m sure. The children did a wonderful job and looked adorable in their costumes; it really is a highlight in every school calendar. Nursery A Wriggly Nativity
