SEND Support
Hello! Helping Your Child Move and Grow!
A Friendly Note from the SENDCo
Moving class, or even starting school for the very first time, is a HUGE adventure! It's super exciting, but sometimes it can feel a little bit wobbly, especially for children who need extra support (our children with SEND).
I'm Mrs Martin, the SENDCo, and my job is to make sure every child feels safe, happy, and confident during these big changes. This page is full of friendly tips to help you support your little one at home!
We Are Here To help
Please don't ever worry alone! If you have any questions or just need a friendly chat about your child's move, get in touch!
Happy Minds are Important: Just like we learn to read and write, it's super important to learn how to take care of our feelings. Feeling happy and safe helps us learn and play better!
Talking About Feelings is Good: Sometimes we feel happy, sometimes we feel sad, and that's okay! At Bloxwich Academy Primary, they want you to know it's always good to talk about how you feel with a grown-up you trust, like a teacher or your parents.
Everyone Has Feelings: Boys and girls, everyone has feelings! It's important to remember that it's okay for everyone to share how they are feeling.
Help is Always There: If you ever feel worried or sad, there are lots of people at school who want to help. Your teachers, and other grown-ups at school, are there to listen and help you feel better.
We learn about feelings at school: Taking care of your mind is part of learning at Bloxwich Academy Primary.
Bloxwich Academy Primary wants everyone to feel happy and safe. If you ever need to talk, there are always people there to help you.

Support in School
If you are worried about your child’s mental health, seeking support at school is the best place to start. In school we are able to offer a range of sessions to support our pupils dealing with anything from low mood, bereavement, exam stress, anxiety or anger. In school, we have successfully run workshops both 1:1 and in small groups to focus on our pupils being able to articulate their feelings and teach pupils coping strategies to enable them to deal with life’s ups and downs.
