On Monday 9th March, Years 7 and 8 had the exciting opportunity to have a performance and workshop delivered by Collingwood Learning.   The performance, both age appropriate, focused on the laws and dangers of underage drinking. Using the performance, you followed the stories of 3 individuals impacted by underage drinking.

Pupils were educated on the need to report concerns to a member of staff or a trusted adult. This works alongside our school value of “We Are A Telling School”.   Following the performance, pupils were reminded of the laws relating to purchasing and drinking alcohol and reminded of the physical and mental impact drinking can have on an individual.

The Department for Education requires us to deliver the statutory guidance for Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE). This, alongside other key areas such as RE, Citizenship and Careers, makes up our personal development curriculum which is delivered at all Key Stages through assemblies and form time activities.

This topic will be supported throughout PSHE lessons and Assemblies.  Details of our RSHE Policy can be found on our website. This content is now statutory and forms a key part of our provision at school. Should you have any queries, please contact Miss Williamson in school.

Bloxwich Academy would like to thank Collingwood Learning for the fantastic and informative production.
