We are intending to close Bloxwich Academy’s sixth form because it is not viable, financially or otherwise. This will not disadvantage any pupils, all of who receive high quality, detailed careers guidance so they can make informed choices about their futures. In the last academic year, there were no pupils recruited to Bloxwich Academy’s sixth form; many instead chose to attend Wednesfield Academy, another of our schools, which is less than 10 minutes from Bloxwich Academy. Wednesfield has much better sixth form facilities and subject specialists for all subjects. Others, especially those favouring a vocational route, went to nearby colleges. This year’s Year 11 pupils have similarly chosen destinations beyond Bloxwich which will ensure they are able to realise their career aspirations.
