We are delighted to share proposals for the redevelopment of Bloxwich Academy Primary School, brought forward by Kier on behalf of the Department for Education.
This once-in-a-generation project will deliver a modern, secure, and sustainable school that provides pupils, staff, and the wider community with outstanding facilities for learning, play and personal development.
A brand-new school building
The existing school will be replaced with a two-storey, purpose-built facility, positioned in the north-east corner of the site. This location has been carefully chosen to improve safeguarding and provide a safer and more inspiring setting for children to learn and grow.
Throughout the project, the current school building will remain in use, ensuring continuity of learning without the need for temporary classrooms. The new school is expected to be ready by Summer 2028.
What’s new?
The redevelopment will introduce:
- 🌟 Modern classrooms with the latest learning technology
- ⚽ A new sports pitch and two multi-use games areas (MUGAs)
- 🌳 Outdoor learning and informal play spaces
- 💧 Rain gardens, attenuation ponds and sustainable drainage
- 🔋 EV charging points and ground source heat pumps to support sustainability
The wellbeing of pupils remains the top priority. The new design enhances security and safeguarding, while retaining and protecting key habitats. With expert input from Natural England and ecological specialists, the project will also introduce new planting and improve biodiversity across the site.
Access and transport
The school will remain well-connected by foot, cycle and bus, and as this is a redevelopment (not an expansion), there will be no increase in traffic or pupil numbers. Access will continue via the existing routes, minimising disruption to the community.
Project timeline
- October 2025 – Planning application submitted
- Spring 2026 – Construction begins
- Summer 2028 – New school completed 🎉
Consultation
A public consultation is being held between 10–24 September 2025. A drop-in event will take place at Bloxwich Academy Primary School on 18 September (3:30pm – 7:00pm) for those who wish to find out more.
